I started the day with a 3.0 mile run. I was tired and slow, but I got the miles in, so I'm happy.
My meals were as follows:
Normal breakfast - Kashi bar and Nuun, post run
Lunch - Grilled veggie sandwich, Sun chips, and unsweet tea
Dinner - Chili's - 6 chips with salsa, 1/2 Margherita Flatbread, one bite of chocolate chip cookie skillet.
Total calories - 1697
A few highlights of my day...
I finally got fit for running shoes at the running store - Ghost 5 - a few months ago. I really love those shoes, and I decided to buy a second pair since my first pair are already over 200 miles. Since I already knew my size, I ordered them on sale from Zappos.com for 89.99 with free shipping. They arrived today (I just ordered them on Sunday), and I'm so excited.
The other thing I'm excited about is biking. I'm not sure why, but in the last week or so, I've found myself really drawn toward exploring the triathlon, even more than running a marathon. I really don't know if it's a sport for me, but I want to try. So I've decided to try some biking with the bike I currently have to see if it's even something I want to explore further. My husband bought me a bike about 10 years ago for my birthday that I used to ride around with my kids when they were younger, but the seat had seen better days, so tonight while we were school supply shopping, I got a new seat, and a helmet. I've never worn one before. I'm hoping that hubby has a chance to change the seat out for me before he leaves (if not, I'm going to try to tackle it myself) and I can get a bike ride in soon.
Tomorrow is another big day at work - time to get re-certified in first aid and CPR.
Have a great night!
