Weekly Weigh In #3

Good morning!  I did not do a post last week, though I did weigh in on Wednesday.  We got back in from Seattle late Monday night, and I had a lot to take care of on Tuesday, hence the delay in blogging!

I'm back on schedule now, so here are my numbers from the last two weeks:

Starting weight on 6/3/14:  151.4 pounds

Weight two weeks ago (on 6/17):  149.2 pounds

Weight one week ago (on Wednesday 6/25):  154.2 (!!!)

Today's weight:  151.6 pounds

Net loss/gain from last two weeks:  +2.4 pounds

Overall GAIN:  +0.2 pounds

Goal weight:  120 pounds

Pounds to go:   31.4 pounds

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The Good:  I lost weight from my weigh in last Wednesday.

The Bad:  I have gained over two pounds since 2 weeks ago.

The Ugly:  I actually weigh more today than I did when I started one month ago.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Bottom line:  I have no excuse.  I have not done what it takes to lose weight during the month of June.  I must change this right now, or I will continue to regain weight, and I can't do that.  I worked to hard to lose it the first time.  I WILL NOT do what I have always done and regain the weight I lose plus more.  This stops now!

Here's to getting back on track, for real this time.

Weekly Weigh-in #2

It's Tuesday, which means it's time to come clean with what the scale had to say this morning.  As I mentioned in my Weekly Chase post yesterday, I logged my calories with My Fitness Pal 6 of the past 7 days, but I was over my allotted calories everyday (until yesterday).  I really wanted to eat something last night while watching a movie with the family, but I resisted.  My goal this week is to not only log my calories, but stay within my allotted calories each day.

Starting weight on 6/3/14:  151.4 pounds

Last week's weight:  149.8 pounds

Today's weight:  149.2 pounds

This week's loss:  -0.6 pounds

Overall loss:  -2.2 pounds

Goal weight:  120 pounds

Pounds to go:  29.2 pounds

While technically I had a loss this week, I know that if I had been more consistent in staying within my calorie goal each day, I could have lost more.

Last night when I wanted to eat, but didn't, I mentally told myself that it was like a half marathon.  Sometimes I will feel as though I just want to give up, but I don't because I want the medal.  Achieving my weight loss goals is like the medal at the end of the race.  And the only way that I get that medal is by perservering and finishing the "race."  I can't quit when it gets hard if I want to cross that finish line.

This week will be a challenge as we will be traveling to Seattle.  Eating out for every meal is difficult, but not a reason to quit.  The good thing is that it will be an active trip - from running RnR Seattle, to all the walking we will be doing around town.

I hope you have a great week and that you reach all of your weight loss goals!

How did you do with weight loss this week?

Weekly Weigh In #1

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I am working to lose the pounds I've gained, and also reach my ultimate weight loss goal.  So on Tuesday, I will be posting my weekly weigh in.  Please feel free to join in if you are looking for some accountability yourself!

Starting weight:  151.4 pounds

Last week's weight:  151.4

Today's weight:  149.8 pounds

This week's loss:  -1.6 pounds

Overall loss:  -1.6 pounds

Goal weight:  120 pounds

Pounds to go:  29.8

Disclaimer:  I am starting over.  In November of 2011, I reached my high weight of 192.2 pounds, and over the course of the next year, I lost nearly 50 pounds, settling in around 143 pounds for most of last year.  My goal was always 115-120 pounds, but I just hit a plateau around 143-145 and stayed there, until the last few months, where I've started regaining.

I've decided that perhaps the second phase of my weight loss needs to start fresh.  It's been so long since I was actively losing weight, the last 40 or so pounds are part of my past journey, and I need to focus on a new journey, the one where I reach my ultimate goal.

Please feel free to join in, if it is helpful to you.  I'd love to have some friends to cheer on, and for me to be accountable to as well.

Have a great week!

The Weekly Chase #14

Good Monday morning!  I hope you had a great week and acheived all of your goals.  It's time for the weekly chase, so here's a recap of my goals from last week:

1.  Finalize summer trip plans.  Yes!  100%  I booked flights and signed hubby and I up for a race as part of the trip.  I'll have to do another post with all the details, but here's a sneak preview:

2.  Strength train 2x this week.  50%  Only one session this week.  I know I need to schedule this, but to be honest, this week was very busy (as most of my weeks will be until summer).  My daughter has volleyball practices and games, and last minute dress rehearsals for the school play that was this past Friday and Saturday (she was Fern in Charlotte's Web).  No excuses, just reality of a busy mom.  :)

3.  Continue to plan and eat healthy meals/snacks.  To be honest, I'd say I was only 25% healthy this week.  I started seriously tracking with My Fitness Pal again on Saturday, so I only have 2 days so far, but I think if I remember that tracking is a gift I give myself and not a punishment, I'm a happier (& healthier) girl.  The days I wasn't tracking weren't all unhealthy, but I know I ate more calories than I should have.

And now, here's what I want to accomplish in the coming week:

1.  Log all of my food on My Fitness Pal - 7 days - no breaks!  This is a no brainer.  I want to lose the few pounds I gained over my Lenten scale sacrifice (and preferably more) and being consistent with tracking is the only way I've ever been successful at losing weight (other than unhealthy ways like not eating at all, or seriously restricting my calories).

2.  Try to ease back into running with 3 runs this week.  I rested my foot all last week after a very painful 3 mile walk on Monday.  I've retired my old shoes, and tried a new lacing pattern to help what I think might be a bout of exterior tendonitis.  I went for a walk on Sunday afternoon to see if I had any pain, and I didn't.  I plan to try a Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday run this week.  Of course, if I have any pain, I will back off this goal and reassess.

3.  Finish and post my Kentucky Derby Half Recap.  I had planned to work on this over the weekend, but we came home Friday night to find that our internet, phone, and tv were all down, and AT&T finally made it out to repair everything Sunday afternoon.

Before I leave you, I will be adding my weekly weigh-in to my weekly chase post, since my one-time-a-week weigh in day is Monday.

So here it is:

Last Monday:  151 pounds
Today:  147.4 pounds

Total Loss for the week:  3.6 pounds

Total Overall Loss (Starting Weight in November 2011 was 192.2):  44.8

Have a great week!  I hope you catch all the goals you are chasing!
